VERY cool stuff Art. Notice the similarity in the texture on the boles of those Redwood trees, and Devil's Tower, Wyoming.

The similarities are very noticeable, indeed. One reason I like fractal math is that it actually describes the real world, rather than idealized forms. Both the columnar cracking in basalt, and the boles of tall trees, have many characteristics in common, and can be descirbed as fractals.
