Idaho Snow
images from Idaho, February 2010
blank wall of snow
covers cold river valley—
long march of trees
ice and fire
and the end of the world—
respite of stillness

These photos have an old world feel, as if they were taken a long time ago. The effect of the snow perhaps.
They are stunning, and well matched by your haiku, Art.
There are big parts of some of the Western states that, even though you know people have been there and probably tramped through and changed the land, still look virginal and unaffected. Sometimes the photos I make of these landscapes make me think of the sixth day of creation: before man was made.
