Art, you deserve all the praise I heap upon you for your photography. These are magnificent. Such a clever use of cutting and refitting -I don't know the technical terms - but they extend the depth of images one hundredfold. Thanks.
Thanks again, E.
I've been finding myself lingering over this series of photos, taken in Mendocino over a period of two days, on the last roadtrip. The conditions were just stellar for photography, and the skies and rocks just seemed to want to pose for me. You know how that can be? Everything converges.
Anyway, I've been lingering over these photos a lot. Some kind of magic of place and time was involved, and I feel lucky to have been present during it. I think some of that is that you have to be willing to travel to certain places during times of the year when many photographers don't, or won't.
Of the three I like the first one best. The last one would make a nice wraparound album cover. The blue windows in the second one don't work for me. Wrong shade of blue.
I mostly agree with that, Jim. I think if I used a different, darker shade of blue in the second piece, it might look better. I'll play with that when I get around to it.
Looking at that third collage again, I like the idea of making that image into a wraparound CD cover. That ha some real potential. Thanks; that's a very useful suggestion.
Beautiful photos of the Mendocino coast! As you say, the coast is most spectacular when few people are willing to risk visiting it. We loved watching you work. Come back soon!
