Happy Birthday, Dave Brubeck
I recently found a special edition of Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet, an edition that features a second CD of live versions of the music, and a documentary DVD. I like these legacy editions, with the added material. You get more of the context of the recording, and more depth surrounding the music. Time Out was recorded in 1959, set many records, and has never been out of print.
Today is Dave Brubeck's 90th birthday. So, in celebration, here's a couple of his Quartet's legendary performances.
